Malevaje milonga at the Dome, 951 62nd Street, Oakland

For two nights only (one concert, one milonga), three extraordinary tango artists come together in a rare new collaboration: Seth Asarnow, appearing on piano and bandoneón, whose career spans the San Francisco Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl, film scores, Dancing with the Stars and a recently released recording with legendary American singer-songwriter Boz Scaggs; Adrian Jost, co-founder of Trio Garufa and a Latin Grammy–nominated bandoneónist who has appeared as a symphony soloist and captivated audiences from Buenos Aires to Europe, to the West Coast; and visiting Argentine singer Juan Villarreal, one of today’s most compelling interpreters of tango song, known internationally through Orquesta El Arranque, Dúo Villarreal Crom, and acclaimed recordings that bridge deep tradition with fresh imagination. Together, they bring the soul of Buenos Aires, the fire of the bandoneón, and the intimacy of tango canción into a concert that promises to be at once intimate, virtuosic, and deeply authentic. A rare meeting of artists, traditions, and musical chemistry and the only scheduled concert of this collaboration.
